GEMSTONE INFORMATION
Gemstones used in my work are selected individually for color, clarity, and harmony with the sculptural form of the piece, and may vary slightly in tone or character as part of the individuality of handmade jewelry.
When possible, stones are tested to confirm gemstone type. I am not a certified gemologist, and testing is limited to standard jeweler’s methods.
Some gemstones may be laboratory-grown, while others are natural. Unless specifically noted in a product description, origin (natural or laboratory-grown) and any treatments may not always be determinable.
Laboratory-grown gemstones are chemically and optically equivalent to their natural counterparts and are widely used in fine jewelry.
My focus is on fabrication, structure, and the relationship between metal and light. Each stone is chosen to support the design and balance of the piece.
If you have questions about a specific gemstone in a particular piece, please feel free to inquire.
